Apr 24,2012: Prof. Coppens has received the 2012 School of Engineering Award for Innovations in Education. He was nominated "...for enhancement of the capstone design and chemical reactor design for CBE seniors through (i) significant restructuring of those courses, (ii) the introduction and integration of novel contemporary design problems, (iii) emphasizing of industrial, process, and environmental safety and economics."

Apr 4, 1012: Michele Lynch presented a poster at the annual RPI Undergraduate Research Symposium.

           

Mar 29, 1012: A perspective paper by M.-O. Coppens entitled "A nature-inspired approach to reactor and catalysis engineering" has appeared in Current Opinion in Chemical Engineering. Click here to access the paper.

Dec 12, 2011: Two new papers have just been published:

The first is "Increasing Robustness against Deactivation of Nanoporous Catalysts by Introducing an Optimized Hierarchical Pore Network-- Application to Hydrodemetalation" by S. M. Rao and M.-O. Coppens. Online here.

Nov 11, 2011: Prof. Coppens gives an invited lecture at Beijing University of Technology (hosted by Prof. Jihong Sun, former postdoctoral fellow in the Coppens research group), on "Nature Inspired Chemical Engineering".

Nov 10, 2011: Prof. Coppens gives an invited lecture at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (hosted by Prof. Chongli Zhong), on "Adsorption, Diffusion and Catalytic Activity of Enzymes in Nanoporous Materials".

Nov 9, 2011: Jeff Marquis presents a poster at RPI's Center for Future Energy Systems' Annual Conference, on the "Improved Design of Low Temperature PEM Fuel Cell Catalyst Layer Microstructure".
